My New Hairstyle. Because it doesn’t have to be January 1 to have a New Look.
It was my very first time to have seen Tony (my preferred hairstylist who digi-permed, cut, styled my hair ever since the salon’s existence) smile wholeheartedly.
At first, I asked the front desk if I could ever have my haircut with front bangs while having curly beginnings of my hair. Well she said I couldn’t but I urged her to consult the hairstylist first. I sat on the sofa as I waited for the front desk lady finish her talk with my favorite hairstylist. I could see that he occasionally looked at me as if deciding to-do or not-to-do. I felt that he really took it because I badly wanted it; and I really think he loved his work so much that he would like to serve others and make them feel happy through making people look good. I really admire his hardwork. Cut here, rebond there, curl there, he had not a pause. What amazed me most was his super power to feel my impatience. Every work done by the assistants, I asked how many minutes would it get to have each of those processes done. But every process, say for example, the first part of straightening, defined by the assistant, involves 10 minutes. Attending to other customers, the assistants and Tony were away and it seemed I was being left. But the amazing part there is, again, that Tony knew how to take care of his customers. He knew at exactly and precisely 10 minutes, wherever you are at the salon, that you should be taken care of, and you exist.
After having thoroughly refurbished my hair, I said thank you to Tony and that was the moment when I finally saw him smile: the smile of success, hardwork, happiness, and the product of love of work.
Thanks Tony for making me somehow look good and totally happy! You made my dream come true! You took the challenge and I say, congratulations! You are such a great person!
P.S. As one of the ladies was shampooing my hair she mumbled something I couldn’t quite comprehend but there were words such as rebond or something and ‘le rebond ba…’ And I was like… “…huh…”
She thought I was Chinese. Or Korean?
